In my personal life, I adore my family (related by blood or by choice) and love the time we spend together, including annual Christmas gatherings of 35+ at our house! I was lucky to find love again later in life and together with my husband Brett, I love travelling, cooking, walking our dog, eating, watching movies, volunteering and relaxing in Newcastle, which is truly heaven on earth!

- Family means everything to me! I’m a devoted mother of two amazing young men, loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt. I can work with a range of family members, of any backgrounds, to make them feel like an integral part of your event.
- It’s an undisputed fact that I’m the organising queen! I’m also well known for my negotiation skills. You can leave all the organising and worry to me, and just enjoy your event.
- I’m a great communicator so my focus will be on understanding your needs and successfully turning those into the ceremony you desire, whatever the occasion.
- I’m of Egyptian heritage, so I know all about the importance of culture and heritage and can work with you to integrate that into your event, if it’s relevant for you.
- I have a lot of experience with public speaking and communicating with people from all walks of life. In 2019, I was honoured to receive an Order of Australia award in 2019, in recognition of my 30+ years of research aiming to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. It’s an amazing honour that I am extremely proud of!
We had the absolute pleasure of having Afaf as our celebrant over the weekend for our small but personal backyard wedding ceremony. Believe it or not, we did not meet face to face until our wedding day, however the connection we created over phone calls and video calls, we just knew that Afaf was the perfect celebrant for us. Afaf personalized our ceremony and made it completely “us’. She has gone above and beyond and we simply could not have chosen someone more amazing to marry us. Thank you so much Afaf.
